Last Friday we looked at some basic musical concepts such as the beat, tempo, rhythm, the quarter and eighth notes. We learned that a beat is a basic unit of time (the pulse), tempo is the speed of our beat, and that rhythm is the organization of beats over time.
We did a bit of Boomwhacking on some different rhythmic examples, and also got to make our own rhythms with plastic cups by learning some basic rhythms as well as the Cup Song.
